Good run today. Didn't take any water with me, but did have a glass of water and some sport beans before I left. Overall, it felt good to run at a slightly faster pace than on some of my other long runs and still have a few miles left in the tank. The great weather didn't hurt, either. 57° but there was some high humidity.
As far as physical difficulties, I had some left shin problems, and somewhat more frightening, I had some brief pain in my right arch. That could be bad if it progresses. To help myself a bit, I took a 20-minute cold bath and ordered some new running shoes. I got a fantastic deal at runningwarehouse.com. Word to the wise, always google for coupons before making a big purchase. I found a 20% off link and with their cheaper prices, I ended up getting a pair of shoes that would normally run me over $100 with tax for only $64! Rock and roll! I have just under 350 miles on the shoes I'm using now, so I'll probably go back and forth a bit in an attempt to get to at least 400 miles. Hopefully, I'll be able to hold together for this half-marathon. I'm beginning to think that I'll do pretty well... (virtual knock on wood)
