Well, we aren't moving. Turns out the first mortgage guy we were working with was either a) doing whatever he could to get business including pre-approving people who had no business getting pre-approved or b) an idiot. After speaking with an additional 3 other lenders, it was clear that my, um, diverse employment as a musician (that's Mr. Artist-in-Residence to you) and the fact that said jobs are very new means that banks aren't anxious to give us a loan. Not a big deal, we just shouldn't have been looking at houses in the first place.
So we're sticking around here for a while.
