Aside from being a Cake song, it is a very pesky problem. You see, we've been having trouble with sporadic interference on our phone line. It was very odd. I'd be talking to someone and get a dial tone, or pick up on other conversations. Today, though, was the worst. I couldn't hear anyone over the static and other noises we were picking up. Unfortunately, when I tried to call the SBC service, it was as though I called them twice. I was hearing the automated "press 4 now" guy in echo, until I made a selection, that is. One of them acknowledged the selection while the other kept going with the menu. If you think that those automated menus are tricky right now, you should try to navigate two of them simultaneously. Ugh.
Thankfully, we had a cell phone and I was able to call when my wife came home. Problem should be fixed by tomorrow.
Let it be know that this is the first time I've ever truly been thankful for owning a cell phone. "Andy - welcome to the 21st Century."
So apparently, everyone in the world hates the recent updates that have been put into place at Facebook. If you haven't heard, instead of having to search through all your friends' profiles to see what was new with them, you now have every single update that your friends have made right on your homepage. And I mean every update...
So what's the big deal???
Most all of my friends have been joining a group called "Facebook sux" or "I hate the new mini feeds" or "Cheese rocks my face off." (Ok, so that last one I made up.) Point is, all this information was on facebook before, its just much easier to get to. "But my privacy is being hurt by this!" Again, anyone who was your friend on facebook could have noted all these changes, it just took more time before. Nothing has really changed.
Well, aside from the fact that I am hooked on facebook now, given my voyeuristic nature, I suppose.
Well, I don't know about all of you, but I actually felt quite sad about the passing of Steve Irwin. And guilty. If you are at all like me, you watched the Crocodile Hunter to see him do stupid things and maybe, just maybe, one day he might just get hurt. Not so funny now that he's leaving behind a wife and two kids.
Now, I tend to be kind of cynical about these things sometimes. I thought that the Grizzly Man's death was no shocker (but his girlfriend's death was quite tragic.) But this one kind of hit me hard, I guess.
Requiescat in Pace, Steve.
