So Carrie was out of town this weekend (well, friday and saturday), so I got to enjoy a "man weekend," if you will. So here is a quick rundown of the pleasantries I engaged in:
I watched four movies, three rented, one in the theaters. They are, in no particular order: Two for the Money, Waiting..., Doom, and V for Vendetta. Obviously, Doom could normally be skipped, unless you dug the video game and want to see the spiffy first-person shot toward the end of a movie. Waiting... wasn't as funny as I had hoped, though I am, loathe as I am to admit it, a fan of Ryan Reynolds. The other two movies were very good. Two for the money was better than I expected, and ended up being an interesting character-driven movie. V for Vendetta was the best movie I've seen in quite a while. Not the action flick I was somewhat expected, but rather a brilliant political movie with complex characters and very stylized cinematography.
I also played some videogames. Mostly a little bit of Madden 2006 (until 3:00 am) and some Crazy Taxi. It was sweet.
Food: The two dinners I had were quite contrary, though they both involved Trippel beer. The first night was 15 pizza rolls and far too much Edy's Ice Cream and the second night some moist peppered-chicken and spaghetti with olive oil. Yummy.
That was most of the time, though I also played on a recital, worked on getting our church podcasting, and goofed around on facebook.
I didn't play any poker this weekend, but I don't know how much more money my friends really wanted me to take from them anyway.
