Jeopardy Test

| | Comments (0)

Man, that Jeopardy test kicked my butt. I did pretty well, meaning I might have gotten have of the questions correct. Oh well. I suppose that I'm not Jeopardy material afterall.

So, any other ideas for making several thousand dollars based only on random knowledge?

Me either.

Man Weekend

So Carrie was out of town this weekend (well, friday and saturday), so I got to enjoy a "man weekend," if you will. So here is a quick rundown of the pleasantries I engaged in:

I watched four movies, three rented, one in the theaters. They are, in no particular order: Two for the Money, Waiting..., Doom, and V for Vendetta. Obviously, Doom could normally be skipped, unless you dug the video game and want to see the spiffy first-person shot toward the end of a movie. Waiting... wasn't as funny as I had hoped, though I am, loathe as I am to admit it, a fan of Ryan Reynolds. The other two movies were very good. Two for the money was better than I expected, and ended up being an interesting character-driven movie. V for Vendetta was the best movie I've seen in quite a while. Not the action flick I was somewhat expected, but rather a brilliant political movie with complex characters and very stylized cinematography.

I also played some videogames. Mostly a little bit of Madden 2006 (until 3:00 am) and some Crazy Taxi. It was sweet.

Food: The two dinners I had were quite contrary, though they both involved Trippel beer. The first night was 15 pizza rolls and far too much Edy's Ice Cream and the second night some moist peppered-chicken and spaghetti with olive oil. Yummy.

That was most of the time, though I also played on a recital, worked on getting our church podcasting, and goofed around on facebook.

I didn't play any poker this weekend, but I don't know how much more money my friends really wanted me to take from them anyway.

Starting again

Well, this may be about the 18th time I've resurrected this blog, but why not. You see, I'm on facebook now. Oops. So much for getting to bed on time. Anyway, I'm going to get this blog back up and running on a semi regular basis so that peeps know what's going on with me.

That being said, I'm going to be on Jeopardy. Seriously. Well, I'm gonna try anyway.

It's funny, because I've been saying to more than a few people lately that given the opportunity, I plan to audition for Jeopardy, but until now regional auditions have been held in far reaches of the country. One of the few disadvantages to living in the Midwest, I suppose.

So is Jeopardy coming to the Midwest? Well, yes and no. First of all, you should go check out this website and see what's up. Apparently, they are going to do an online quiz to see if you are good enough for an audition. Better yet, if I were fortunate to advance to the next round of tests/interviews, the audition would be in St. Louis, a mere stone's throw from KC. Sweet.

So tune in to Jeopardy sometime in the next year or so and you might see me. Ok, so probably not, but it's worth a shot. Hey, there is always Deal or No Deal
